世界の首都ともいえるニューヨークに住んでいると、ファッションブランドとかデザイナーが足りなくて困る！ってことはまずありません。私は常に、レアでユニークなアイテムを探しているので、これぞ！というブランドに出会ったときは嬉しくて仕方がないのです。ここ最近見つけた「これぞ！」といえば、スーパークールな、ヘルズ・ベルズ。
ヘルズ・ベルズは、1960年代に起こった女性解放運動に共鳴していて、襟ぐりの深い洋服やバイアスカットなどのような典型的にフェミニンな洋服に反抗する形で生まれたブランド。ボールドなグラフィックや、斬新なデザインによって、その意思を表現しているのです。
クリエイティブディレクターのレイニーBが2005年に立ち上げたヘルズ・ベルズは、哲学的なアプローチで制約と拘束の微妙で絶妙なバランスを表現しています。ルースなカットのデザインには、ただ着易いという目的だけでなく、ミニマルなエッジーさがあります。LAのダウンタウンに拠点を置いているものの、ニューヨークのローワー・イーストサイドのような、ルールや慣例に従わない自由なルックが、ヘルズ・ベルズにはあります。
「To Dye For」と名付けられた2010年サマーコレクションは、夏の定番をダークにひねったライン。マーブル・ダイやフリンジのディテールからは、夏の暖かい気候と、デイタイムカクテル、そしてサマーロマンスの印象さえ感じられます。私のお気に入りは、「Afford Me」という、プリントのタンクトップとベストのペア。まさに「To Die For」、死ぬほど欲しい！！

Hellz Bellz
Living in the capital of the world, there is never a shortage of brands, designers and labels to choose from, I find myself constantly looking for unique pieces that are rare and hard to find, and love it when I stumble upon cult brands. My latest find is the uber cool Hellz Bellz. Hellz is a take on the 1960's female liberation movement and the opposition of the typical hyper-feminine pieces with low necklines and bias cuts. Instead, Hellz Bellz provides a different route to fashion through bold graphics & progressive designs.
Founded in 2005 by creative director Lanie B. uses the philosophical approach to draw from the fine balance of constraint and restraint, creating lose fits that are not only easy to wear but effortlessly minimal with edge. Headquartered in Downtown, Los Angeles, Hellz has the look taken from a street out of the Lower East Side in New York, defying all rules of conformity.
The Summer 2010 collection, titled, "To Dye For" is a dark twist on summer staples, and intricate detailing like marble dye and fringe for a mixture that reflects warm sunny weather, daytime cocktails and summer romance. My favorite piece from the collection is the Afford Me, jersey print tank paired with the slub jersey vest. Its simply to dye for!
