ニューヨークで噂のNEWショップ、The Reformation

みなさんこんにちは、hitomiです。ニューヨークはどんどん気温が下がり、秋を通り越して冬の気配さえ感じられるこの頃ですが、みなさんはいかがお過ごしでしょうか？
今回は、ニューヨークでファッションライター／スタイリストとして活躍するキュートでオシャレなレベッカをゲストに、ニューヨークで噂のNEWショップを紹介してもらいます。目紛しく変化するニューヨークのファッション業界で生きるレベッカ、これからもどんどん私達にとって嬉しい、ホットな情報を発信してくれるそうなので、楽しみにしてて下さいね！

ファッション・ブランド『YaYa』の立ち上げから、約10年。デザイナーのヤエル・アフラルが、よりヴィンテージに触発されたプロジェクトをスタートしました。新たにデザイナーのチー・ビュイとパートナーを組み、『The Reformation』というブランド＆ショップが誕生したんです！
ヴィンテージの洋服や布をリ・デザインしたものはもちろん、コンテンポラリーなワンピースやブラウスもあって、プライス・レンジは$75～$175といったところ。この頃ちょっとお財布の紐が堅めの方にも手が届きやすいのが嬉しいですよね。
『The Reformation』の１号店がロサンジェルスにオープンしたのは2008年。つい最近、NYのローワー・イースト・サイドに２店目がオープンしました。
ヤエル・アフラロは、
「“The Reformation”には２つの意味があるの。１つはマルティン・ルター（ドイツ人牧師／神学者）が行った“Reformation（Protestant Reformation＝宗教改革）”。よりシンプルなアプローチについて考えさせられるものがあるのよね。２つ目の意味は、洋服を“Reform（リフォーム）”するということ。つまり私達がヴィンテージ・アイテムを使ってやっていることね。」
と語っています。
今シーズン人気なのは、80’s Tシャツ。ヴィンテージのTシャツをリフォームして、どこかイマっぽく、１枚でグっと主張する価値ある１枚に仕上がっています。
今年の秋冬シーズンのマスト・ハヴといえば、なんといってもパワー・ショルダー。ということで私のお気に入りは、写真の黒のクルー・ネック・ヴィンテージTシャツです。着心地の良いコットン素材のＴシャツに、巨大ショルダー・パッドの組み合わせのこの１枚。実は、Tシャツが裏返してあるので、ヴィンテージ・プリントがうっすら透けて見えるんです。
これならトレンディ過ぎず、サっと着られますよー。今シーズン大人気のパワー・ショルダーを取り入れるのに、必ず気をつけなきゃいけないのは「バランス」。バルマンのジャケットはカッコいいけど、小柄な人はあそこまで大きく張った肩は着ないこと。自分の背丈とサイズに合った大きさのパワー・ショルダーを選んで、バランスを崩さないように気をつけましょうね。
おまけにバルマンのジャケットは$11,000なのに対して、このヴィンテージTシャツはなんと$85！お買い得です。タイダイ・プリントやシルク素材もあるので、クローゼットにプラスするには完璧！です。

Ten years after Yael Aflalo launched her fashion line, YaYa, she decided to do something a little more vintage inspired. Aflalo then partnered up with designer, Chi Bui where they birthed a new vision, called The Reformation. Offering reworked vintage pieces, as well as contemporary dresses and separates. The Reformation ranges between $75-$175, which is an accessible and the perfect fashion forward fix for any girl on a budget.
The Reformation first opened their own store in L.A. in 2008, and have recently debuted their second location in New York City on the Lower East Side. "The Reformation is a double entendre," Aflalo explains. "It's named for both Martin Luther's Reformation, which was about a simpler approach, and for the idea of reforming clothes, which is what we do with vintage items."
The piece that is doing very well this season is a vintage 80’s t-shirt that has been reworked into something fashion forward and statement worthy. As strong shoulders are a must have for this fall season, my favorite item is the black, crew neck vintage tee. The duo constructed bulky shoulder pads into this easy to wear cotton t-shirt, then turned the t-shirt inside out to only show a faint print showing through the inside.
This t-shirt is easy to wear, while not being overly trendy. With the big shoulder trend this season, some girls have to be careful because a small frame with big powerful shoulder pads, like the Balmain Jacket, can look out of balance with the size and height of the girl. Also, you only have to spend $85 on this trendy item, where as the Balmain jacket is 11,000! This t-shirt also comes in tie-dye prints and silks too, and is the perfect addition for you and your closet!
